To all junior badminton players in the Southport area - entries are now being taken for all junior individual tournaments - see below for details.

If you are a member of one of the clubs in the Southport & District Badminton League (whether or not they have a junior section) and you were 15 years or younger on 31st August 2016, you can play in the individual tournaments run by the League. These are:

U12 Restricted Tournament - 4th March 2017 (aged 11 or younger on 31/08/2016)

U14 Restricted Tournament - 4th February 2017 (aged 13 or younger on 31/08/2016)

U16 Restricted Tournament - 4th March 2017 (aged 15 or younger on 31/08/2016)

U13 Open Tournament - 18th March 2017 (aged 12 or younger on 31/08/2016)

U16 Open Tournament - 18th March 2017 (aged 15 or younger on 31/08/2016)

Restricted Tournaments are open to players that have NOT played for county ‘A’ teams this season or last season more than once in total. (North Midway League matches in Sheffield do not count as ‘A’ team events.)

Open Tournaments are open to all players whether or not you have played for the county.

To enter any of the tournaments go to Junior Tournament Entry via the Juniors link on this site where you can complete and return an online entry form (one entry per player per tournament please). Entries must be received by the Tuesday before a tournament.

All tournaments are on Saturdays between 12 noon and 6pm, at Greenbank High School, Hastings Road, Southport, PR8 2LT.

All tournaments have singles, level doubles and mixed doubles. These are individual events which means you have to find your own partners for doubles events, or you can put “partner wanted” on the entry if you want the organiser to try to find you a partner.

Costs are £4.50 per person per event (e.g. £4.50 for singles) but if you play all 3 events in a tournament the cost is reduced from £13.50 to £10.

Winners and runners up receive trophies at the end of season Presentation Evening - this takes place early evening on Saturday 29th April - please reserve this date in your diary.
